For your consideration, we are offering for sale this restored Circa 1928 Waterman Olive Ripple Hard Rubber Fountain Pen & Pencil Set. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

This Waterman Set has been preserved handsomely and a spectacular example with no crack, damage, or repair. This fountain pen is made from hard rubber in the Olive ripple design. The coloring is an Olive and Black color and displays consistent coloring. The fountain barrel has a perfect crisp imprint that reads, "WATERMAN'S REG US PAT. OFF. FOUNTAIN PEN RIPPLE". The butt end of the fountain pen has a clean and crisp imprint "94". The threads on the cap and barrel are excellent with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. There are no monograms or personalizations on the cap or barrel. There are no cracks, nicks or repairs to the hard rubber. This Waterman 94 measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/2" posted.

The lever and box assembly is in mint condition. The Globe and Ideal imprint on the lever is crisp and clean, no brassing. The Waterman Clip is in perfect condition with no brassing. The cap banding is perfect with no brassing or wear. I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Hand cleaned the inside of the barrel and cap. Cleaned and polished the outside of the cap and barrel. Replaced the old rubber sac with a new sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Barrel Banding, Gold Filled Clip, Gold Filled Lever Box Assembly along with the Waterman Nib. I have also hand buffed and polished the Waterman Hundred Year Pencil. There is no brassing to any of the gold-filled trim on this fountain pen and pencil set.

The lever and box assembly have been cleaned and oiled. It works flawlessly and smoothly. The lever is crisp and clean with no brassing. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills wonderfully.

The pencil propels the lead as it was designed to without any challenges.

The NIB is the 14K #4 Waterman Ideal Nib. When measuring the actual iridium tip of the NIB, it measures at .54mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with a Double Extra Fine line measuring roughly .30mm with very light pressure and flexes up to a Double Broad stroke of 1.45mm with medium to firm pressure when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
