For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Scarce Restored 1939 Waterman 100 Year Pencil in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. This Pencil has been cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.

In 1939 Waterman began manufacturing the 100 Year writing instruments to the public. The first year fountain pen came with the Cap Clip that went over the top of the cap, which is this type that I have listed. Also, the first year - 100 Year Waterman Fountain Pens were made from Lucite but were changed back to celluloid after 1940.

I have cleaned and polished the outside of the cap and barrel. Hand polished the Gold Filled Barrel Banding, Gold Filled Waterman Clip, and Gold Filled Nose Cone.

This pencil is made from lucite in Jet Black. The coloring is an amazing black color with no damage to either the cap or barrel. The back of the cap has the imprint at the center of the barrel that reads, "WATERMAN'S UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". The barrel has the gold-filled banding that is clean and secure to the ribbed barrel. The clip has very minor wear on the very bottom of the clip edging. The barrel banding is clean with no wear.

This Waterman 100 Year Pencil has been preserved handsomely and a spectacular example. There are no monograms on the cap or barrel. There are no cracks, crazing, nicks or repairs to the lucite on this Waterman. This Waterman Hundred Year is a standard size Pencil that measures 5 3/8" in length.

The mechanism will propel and repel the lead - it is functioning as it should. There is a gently used eraser. Removing the eraser reveals the area to store extra lead which several sticks are included.

Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.

Finding the 1st Year Waterman Hundred Year Pencil is elusive and finding one in this condition is extremely difficult. This is a Holy Grail Waterman Hundred Year Pencil that I would consider the condition to be in Excellent condition. Certainly, this is a collector grade writing instrument.
